Coats, long coats.

Kaki, black or blue marine, there is enough choice, right ? The point is that men need long coats. Not that they really need it, but I would say that it looks more elegant. It’s up to you guys!

Something is sure, these three looks are “killer looks” because they are dark, intense and geometric. Look at the first one : Belstaff knows what “details” means. This kaki coat is quite sophisticated and casual at the same time. We love it! All the finishes are important and give an “officer touch” to the whole. If you want to look elegant and cool as well, choose this direction. The black and – more or less – grunge boots play their role. No doubt about it!

Time for men in black at Costume National. Hmmm… Black is the new black, right ? Can men be sexier than in an all in black look ? I do not think so. My opinion. What is yours, girls ? Anyway. Costume National opted for a very long dark coat. You would think this is too long, but if you have the silhouette for those types of coats, just try it. You would not regret it. Looking a bit mysterious and dangerous… is that not what we call “attractive” ? And scarves, gentlemen, please protect your neck (also because you look even more great with it).

Last but not least, Diesel Black Gold mixes this amazing blue marine silky suit with a casual hooded coat (fur within). Nonchalant, but self-confident. It could seem paradoxical ; it is not. Just understand that we want you to surprise us. Dare the mix “elegance-casualness”!

Winter is coming. Coats are essential. Important : choose the right one for you. Small men with a large morphology avoid the extra length (you would look even smaller and larger). If you are small, but not that large, you can easily wear an ampler coat. Pay attention to the length : not too long, not too short, the middle of the thigh would be good (just a little little bit longer). Others have to accentuate their waist to lengthen their shape : prefer a jacket with a belt.

Always fundamental : coat’s sleeves. Perfect length would be exactly on the pisiform bone (not exactly the end of the wrist).

ImageWear fur or go home.

After “go big or go home”, that means to maximize your coats (because all we care about this season is the outside and not what is under), it is the turn of fur. Yes, I KNOW, this is NOT THAT KIND for the concerning animals, but there is the “faux fur” alternative those for who would feel bad wearing such a coat. On the other hand, we can not deny that it gives a certain presence.

Belstaff prefers to stay more or less classical, but at the same time comfortable in using fur from part to part, especially emphasizing on the hood ; this breaks the classical rules with a casual touch. And we love it ! Just because the leather-fur mix  in such a mysterious dark brown-black color is young and dynamic. And look at these boots ! You want them… yes, I know, I know. Feminine and elegant, but also adventurer, ready to face up to winter 2013-14. Good choice.

Donna Karan. Fur, as well, but something different, isn’t it ? I would first suppose suede… you guess what follows. Donna Karan’s look is really really noble ; almost proud. Come on ! Not THAT arrogant (only the little bit we need to make our worst enemy jealous… pleasurable). Second, the length: assymetric, longer than Belstaff’s coat and graphic, that’s the point. These high-knee boots are simply gorgeous and match exactly the whole look.

Last but not least, those for who prefer to wear fur subtlety, the next option is for you. Maiyet and Versace sublime their looks in adding some fur accessorizes; it is more discrete, but not less elegant. It is only a different way to play with this game that is fashion. Because we are all different, take everything you can from the runways, mix, match… and find your style.

It goes larger, larger & larger.

Time for geometric and ample coats, as well as large pants. You are not “easy to get” women, right ? So prefer the others guessing your sexy silhouette, hidden under extra large materials, instead of showing it directly (too easy). Nobody said fashion could not be a game, or even a kind of hunt after figures. Dress also “un peu à la garçon” like Alexa, Lou and company because we all know how sexy we are in our boyfriend’s white T-shirt (of course with a skinny jean and high heels ; T-shirt “in” in the front, please!).

Since 2010 silhouettes are oversized, unstructured, but always elegant. In the past years, clothes were more like a “second skin” (from the 2000’s). In the 70’s, androgyny was the trend with the famous YSL smoking. 20 years later, do some place, please, for sexy sheath dresses. Today’s fashion seems to cover the body more than in the past few years… it does not mean we are less beautiful and feminine ! Big shoulders are back… maybe not exactly like in the 80’s, but with the same meaning : “audacity & power”.

Couture Autumn/Winter 2013-14 : Armani Privé & Giambattista Valli.

ImageUnder volume, fragile femininity.

You may say that there are no similarities between these two looks, not all. Don’t you ? Hmmm…

Hair are completely different as well as shoes ; that’s a fact. The silhouette is enhanced in the same way, yet. Look at the waist… two belts for one and unique slim figure. Giorgio Armani and Giambattista Valli both offer you to shine in the very soon arriving cold with a fresh make up. Delighted about next winter ? You should.

I admit these looks are quite dissimilar, however, the same desire to express femininity and sensuality through volume should be noticed. That’s the reason why I decided to put them together. Armani’s pink vaporous coat breaks off woman’s sensual curves, while Giambattista Valli’s pearl grey dress conceals hips, but subtly attracts the look on them (letting you guess them, actually). Because both designers chose to play with volumes, they preferred to stay sober concerning accessories. The attitude is already part of them. As well as details : golden pumps, golden clutch’s components at Armani and black belt, black pumps at Giambattista Valli.

They also highlighted the contrast between materials : “froufrou” Valli’s underskirt raises the pleated part of the dress, what does not weigh down the figure, but on the contrary gives to it dynamic. And we love it !  Feeling like Alice in Wonderland never killed nobody. On the other hand, Armani’s atmosphere is more like a “gangster’s paradise” with, of course, the perfect femme fatale it includes : fur versus silk, firmness versus softness. Fashion is all about contradiction : un “je t’aime moi non plus”…

Couture Autumn/Winter 2013-14 : Alexandre Vauthier & Bouchra Jarrar.

Choose your side : black or white ?

La Haute Couture.

A fairy tale in our grey and gloomy everyday. Need of evasion ? Dive into this world of creativity, elegance, sobriety & liberty. Be who you want to be, wear what you want to wear, and the others… it doesn’t matter.

Alexandre Vauthier and Bouchra Jarrar created for you the strength you need to affirm the powerful woman you are (or could be). Narrow waist blazer, rolled up sleeves or not, it depends on your mood : a “yes” if you want to “rock” your look, a “no” if you prefer to stay classical and keep your fragile pretty wrists hidden. “Wear pants”, because Today’s woman knows how to assume her femininity without skirts or dresses. Vauthier offers a kind of black silky harem pants (in preference) those for have long and thin legs, while Jarrar follows the classical way with some traditional white-creme carrot pants to extend the silhouette.

Asymmetric belt at Vauthier & chained one at Jarrar. Which one will be yours ? The first sort is already part of the pants and look more sophisticated ; the second one comes closer to the “officer” style, asymmetric as well, like a sparkling jewel hanging on your waist.

I don’t want to influence you at all, but be aware that you will be nothing more than simply fashionable wearing WHITE this winter. Dare ! And impress. (As well as fur and feathers.)

What is the most important to show this season ? Your face. Play with hair and make up : byzantin, classe, bleu, nude, aristocratique, audacieux, chargé or mutin, make up can be of any type. The choice is large. Be imaginative, be fresh for Autumn/Winter 2013-14 !
